Health and Care Foundation

Dr. Bharat Bhagat, professionally a surgeon, started his private practice at the age of 29 and undertook social work starting at the age of 32. He served as Hon. surgeon in a General Hospital for 29 years and retired as Hon. Asst. Professor of surgery.

He has been associated with multiple social organizations, but for the last two decades, he has focused on the HEALTH AND CARE FOUNDATION (formerly known as Polio Foundation). He established this organization in 1984-85 in a very informal way, but when people started donating he established a Formal Trust in 1987 and he is the Founder Chairman of this Trust. He was the pioneer in eradicating polio in India. The Health and Care Foundation Trust has units for Pediatric Corrective Surgery, Cerebral Palsy, a Center for Diabetes, a full-fledged Ophthalmology Department with all facilities under one roof including ROP, Dialysis center, Women Wellness Clinic for screening of breast and cervical cancer, Dental care, ENT, Corrective Spine Surgery and other services.
