On July 17, ICA held its annual event to share recent projects and honor women empowerment.. This year, the event’s theme was “Let Her Soar,” and focused on the uplifting of women. One of the night’s speeches was given by Dr. Radha Karnad, who shared her affordable healthcare work in Africa. Dr. Juin Dutta, who works at the Srotoshwini, a trust that supports women and children in need, shared her Pathshala initiative. Both honorees’ presentations showcased the ways they have contributed to women’s health and empowerment, serving as inspirations to the audience. The other speakers, which included ICA board members, shared their stories and experiences as well (please see their stories below).
Here is a link to the album of pictures of the event. Bay Area Creative Dance Academy performed a spectacular dance drama. And, of course, our MC, Sunny Moza kept the audience captive with his snippets of dance and laughter.
The event was a huge success, with over 200 attendees, including those who joined the event virtually on Zoom. A total of $126,651 was donated by the attendees. A big thank you to all the volunteers who made the event successful and supported ICA.
